Raccoon & Squirrel Removal in Caledon

Humane wildlife removal for Caledon homes: raccoons, squirrels, skunks, birds and bats.

Caledon is the rural top of Peel: Bolton's old village core and its newer subdivisions, Caledon East, the Escarpment villages of Belfountain, Inglewood, Cheltenham and Alton, and estates and farms on big lots in between. Out here the list of animals is longer, and we handle all of them humanely, seal the way in and repair the damage.

Lifetime guarantee on every entry point we seal.

Wildlife problems we see in Caledon

Caledon is mostly countryside: the Niagara Escarpment along the west side, the Oak Ridges Moraine across the east, the Caledon Hills and the Humber headwaters in between. That means more skunks, more bats and more raccoons than the suburbs to the south, and animals that have barns, sheds, garages and woodpiles to choose from before they ever try the house.

Bolton is the one real town, with a 19th-century village core on the Humber under mature trees and subdivisions from the 1980s to the 2010s around it: wood trim and open chimneys in the old part, aluminum soffit and roof vents in the new. Caledon East, Caledon Village, Palgrave and Mono Mills are smaller versions of the same mix.

The Escarpment villages of Belfountain, Inglewood, Cheltenham and Alton are stone and brick heritage homes on the Credit River, with deep eaves, old chimneys and forest on every side. On the estate lots, a raccoon in the attic is as likely to have come from the barn as from the woods, and the roofline is only one of the places that needs a look.

Raccoon removal in Caledon

Raccoons are everywhere in Caledon, and from late winter to early summer the females look for a dry, quiet place for their kits: an attic, a barn loft, a garage ceiling or the space above a porch. Heavy footsteps after dark are the sign in a house; outside, a torn roof vent, lifted soffit or open chimney.

Kits are checked for before any removal so the family goes out together, then the opening is sealed and the roof, vent, soffit or chimney repaired to match. Raccoon removal means every way in gets found and closed.

Squirrel removal in Caledon

Squirrels are the daytime noise, loudest at first light and before dusk, and in Caledon they have no shortage of trees. They chew in at soffit corners, fascia edges and roof vents, and the old wood trim of the villages is their easiest target.

Two litters a year means a spring or late-summer squirrel is usually a mother with young in the insulation. Nothing is sealed until all of them are out, and the chewed spot is repaired afterwards. See squirrel removal.

Skunk, bird and bat removal in Caledon

Skunks are the most common call in rural Caledon, denning under decks, porches, sheds, barns and woodpiles. Once the skunk is out, wire mesh is fixed along the base of the structure and dug into the soil so nothing can dig back in (skunk removal).

Birds nest in uncovered dryer and bathroom vents and in the open chimneys of older homes; eggs and young are checked for before the opening is screened or capped (bird removal). Bats roost in barns and in the attics and fascia gaps of older houses, and the Escarpment and the forest tracts make them a regular part of Caledon life. They are protected in Ontario, so the timing and method are explained before any work begins (bat removal).

Common questions in Caledon

Can you come today?

In most cases, yes. Same-day service is available for requests received before 4 PM, subject to technician availability. If same-day service isn't available in your area right now, we'll tell you upfront and get you the next available time.

What's the 4 PM cutoff about?

Requests received before 4 PM local time give us the best chance of reaching your property the same day. Requests after that are usually scheduled for the next available slot — we'll confirm timing when you contact us.

I don't know what animal it is. Is that a problem?

Not at all. Most people who contact us haven't seen the animal, just heard it. Tell us what you're hearing and where, and our technician will identify it on-site.

Is the animal treated humanely?

Yes. We use humane removal methods suited to the animal and the situation.

Are you insured?

Yes. Good Neighbors Wildlife carries $5 million in liability insurance.

Will you need to come inside my home?

Usually, we can solve the wildlife problem entirely from outside without needing to enter your home. Some situations require access inside; your technician will explain what is needed.

Do you service my area?

We currently serve Toronto, York Region, Durham Region and Peel Region. Check our service areas page, or reach out and we'll let you know if we cover your area.

Do you cover Bolton and the Escarpment villages?
